This policy explains what information E C CAM TOOLS, LLC (“EC Cam Tools,” “we,” or “us”) collects when you visit our website, buy from us, or get in touch. It also covers how we use that information and the choices you have.
Who we are
E C CAM TOOLS, LLC is a veteran-owned small business in the United States. We make and sell the EC Cam Tool. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@eccamtool.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Orders: your name, email, shipping and billing addresses, phone number if you add one, and what you ordered.
- Accounts: if you create an account, your email, password, and saved addresses.
- Contact and quote forms: your name, email, and whatever you tell us, such as your company, how many tools you need, and where they’re going.
- Reviews: your name, rating, and what you write.
- Email sign-up: your email, if you check the box at checkout to get bulk pricing and product news.
Payment information
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your full card number goes straight to Stripe and never touches our website or our records. We only see limited details, like the card type, the last four digits, and the expiration date.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our partners collect basic information about your device and visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that sent you here, and your general location based on your IP address. Most of this comes from cookies and similar tools, explained below.
How we use it
- To process, ship, and support your order, and to send order confirmations and tracking.
- To figure out sales tax based on where your order ships.
- To answer your questions and quote requests.
- To send a check-in and review request after your order, and a reminder if you leave something in your cart.
- To send bulk pricing and product news, but only if you signed up.
- To see how people use the site so we can improve it, and to measure and run our ads.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
- To keep records the law requires, such as tax records.
Emails from us
Order confirmations and shipping updates are part of your purchase. Follow-up emails, cart reminders, and product news include an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Our email system records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we know what’s useful.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them for these purposes:
- Running the store: cookies that keep your cart, checkout, and login working. The store won’t work without them.
- Order source: our store software notes how you found us, such as the site or ad that sent you, and saves it with your order.
- Google Analytics 4: shows us how visitors use the site, such as which pages they view and how they got here. Google collects device, browser, and usage information, including your IP address. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google explains how it uses this data in its privacy policy.
- Meta Pixel: helps us measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show ads to people who have visited our site. Meta collects information about your visit and actions like adding to cart or buying, and may connect it to your Meta account. You can manage this in your Meta ad preferences. Meta explains how it uses this data in its privacy policy.
You can also limit ad tracking in your Google ad settings, through the Digital Advertising Alliance, and in your browser settings, where you can block or delete cookies. If you block all cookies, the cart and checkout won’t work.
Who we share it with
We share information only with companies that help us run the business, and only what they need to do their job:
- Stripe, to process payments.
- USPS and our shipping label service, to ship your order.
- WooCommerce Tax (Automattic), to calculate sales tax from your shipping address.
- Google and Meta, through the analytics and advertising tools described above.
- Our website host and email providers, to run the site and send email.
- Our accountant, attorney, or other advisers, when needed.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or with a buyer if the business is ever sold.
We don’t sell or rent our customer list. Some state laws count sharing browsing data with advertising partners like Google and Meta as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out of that at any time, as explained below.
How long we keep it
- Order records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Accounts: until you close your account or ask us to delete it.
- Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Messages and quote requests: as long as we need them to help you and keep reasonable business records.
How we protect it
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), card details are handled by Stripe, and only the people who need your information can see it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the state you live in, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and others with privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct information that’s wrong.
- Have your information deleted.
- Opt out of targeted advertising and of any “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information.
To make a request, email info@eccamtool.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We’ll confirm it’s you, usually by matching your email address or order details, and respond within the time your state’s law requires. You can have an authorized agent make a request for you. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying with “Appeal” in the subject line. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Our site and products are for adults who work with camlock equipment. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
United States only
We sell to US addresses only, and our website and service providers store information in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
